Nursery School Ofsted Report, October 2014

We are very proud of our inspection report which acknowledges the skill and dedication of staff and governors, the achievements of children and our close working with parents. Outstanding in all areas of the inspection for a second time is a fantastic achievement.

This inspection used the same framework as primary and secondary school inspections because we have qualified teachers on our staff. Inspections for day nurseries use a less rigorous framework.

Ofsted are very keen to receive parent comments on all schools, please click on this link to Parent View to give them feedback about Brantfield Nursery (Kendal Nursery School). We are always very appreciative of the many positive comments we receive from families both directly to us and to Ofsted.

Letter from Tim Farron, 1st November 2014

Tim Farron celebrates another ‘outstanding’ Ofsted result for Kendal nursery

Tim Farron passed on his congratulations to everyone at Brantfield for their very special achievement saying: “The school is an incredibly special place and a beacon of best practice.”
This achievement follows measures introduced by the Government this year that make it more difficult for schools to receive the top ‘outstanding’ grade. In her report, inspector Nora Waugh wrote “Exceptionally strong teamwork underpins the development of this outstanding nursery school. Led by an inspirational headteacher and supported by the highly effective governing body, everyone shares a philosophy dedicated to helping children and families. This is a vibrant community with respect for children at its heart.”

Tim said: “I am immensely proud of Brantfield and all you continue to do to develop the youngest people in our community.”

“This is a wonderful result wholly deserved by this fantastic nursery. I pay tribute to Head Teacher Veronica Broyd and her staff, the children and their parents. Nurseries like this one are an inspiration and crucial in ensuring the well-being of youngsters from an early age.”
