Welcome to Kendal Nursery School
On behalf of all our staff and governors, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Kendal Nursery School.
We are a Local Authority Maintained Nursery School in Kendal, situated in the beautiful old house of Brantfield. The Nursery School was established in 1946 to serve the local community, and many parents – and even grandparents – still share fond memories of their own time here as children.
Over the years, the building and grounds have continued to evolve, but our ethos remains the same: to provide the very best early years education in a nurturing and inspiring environment.
Our Nursery
We offer both full-time and part-time places for children aged 2 to 5 years. Our large garden and outdoor spaces are continually developed, giving children the opportunity to choose the outdoors as their learning environment. In addition, they can enjoy our magical and exciting woodland area, which inspires a sense of adventure and wonder.
We know that coming to Nursery is often a child’s first experience away from their family. That’s why we provide a warm, welcoming environment that feels like a natural extension of home. Our dedicated team has a wealth of experience in working with young children and families, and we are committed to ensuring your child’s time with us is filled with joy, discovery and memorable experiences.

What We Offer
As a Local Authority Nursery School we provide:

3-Year-Old Funded Places – Term-time only, 15 or 30 hours per week

2-Year-Old Funded Places – Term-time only, 15 or 30 hours per week
- Fully outdoor class option for preschool – available at £10 per day supplement

Breakfast Club – Term-time only, 8.00–9.00am daily

After School Club – Term-time only, 3.00–5.30pm daily

Holiday Club – 9.00am–4.00pm during the Easter and Summer holidays

The option to pay for additional hours to top up funded places if required
